Strutt ev¹ 1.2.3.10 Release Notes: New UI, Enhanced evSense and Safety Updates
Get ready to experience your Strutt ev¹ like never before. While your vehicle may have arrived running an earlier system, upgrading to firmware Version 1.2.3.10 will transform your daily drive. We know a jump in version numbers sounds exciting, but we promise the leap in real-world performance is even more impressive.
This update focuses on delivering a smoother drive, smarter power management, and a brand-new UI. Below is your complete guide to everything changing, improving, and evolving in version 1.2.3.10.
⚠️ While Upgrading
Battery Life
If your Strutt ev¹ is charging during the firmware update, please wait until the battery is fully charged and the upgrade is complete before taking your vehicle for a spin.
⚠️ After Upgrading
Vehicle Buffer
Once version 1.2.3.10 is installed, the evSense system will automatically adjust the vehicle safety buffer. This process takes about 10 minutes. Please do not power off the vehicle or put it into Sleep Mode during this window. If a custom buffer (Extra Clearance) was previously set, you will need to re-enter the earlier settings after the update is completed. This must be configured before using the evSense system.
Safety Acknowledgments
Unlocking your vehicle's customized capabilities (including Level S, turning off Manual Mode joystick vibration alerts, enabling Auto-Pilot, Hands-Free, and Extended Speed) requires a quick review and acknowledgment of our safety waivers. We've added this step to ensure you understand how these settings work and to empower you to safely tailor your driving experience.
Here is how you can activate these features:
Step 1: Acknowledgment via the Strutt Mobile App
Open your Strutt mobile app and tap the gear icon (top right) to access your Vehicle Settings. Next, scroll down to the bottom to toggle these functions on. A window will pop up prompting you to review and accept the agreement.
Note: Accepting waivers on the App may take a moment to take effect in this version update. After pressing the button once, please wait a few moments while the App syncs with the vehicle and our servers.
Step 2: Enabling Functions on your Strutt ev¹
Once the safety agreements are accepted on the Strutt mobile app, you can enable these functions directly on your Strutt ev¹.
What's New in Version 1.2.3.10
1. A Fresh Customizable UI
We've redesigned your interactive experience, so your favorite features are always just a swipe away.
Dynamic Main Interface
Your home screen now intuitively changes color based on your active drive mode.
- Blue for Co-Pilot
- Green for Co-Pilot+
- Yellow for Waypoints and Pathfinder
- Gray for Manual Mode
Each drive mode will clearly display the mode's full name. We've also added critical stats (including battery life and speed) right where you need them.

Smarter Dashboard
Swipe down from the home screen to reveal more information, including time, real-time incline/slope, your total mileage, and indicators for any active functions. Some examples include Range Mode, Joystick Locked and Wi-Fi Connectivity.

The 9-Shortcut Menu
Swipe down from the home screen to reveal 9 quick-access shortcuts. You can tap on the shortcuts to enable these features instantly.

To rearrange your layout, tap and hold an icon, then drag it to a new position. The icons on the top row will remain pinned to the main home screen. Note: The AI Assistant icon is fixed in position and cannot be moved.

While on this screen, pressing and holding the Strutt button will not return you to the home screen. To return to the home screen, swipe up.
The Strutt Button
The Strutt Button on your armrest is now a master switch that opens the function menu. Press the Strutt button to open the function menu.
For ease of classification, we've grouped the functions by category - e.g., General, View, Drive Mode, Vehicle Mode, and Convenience. In addition to the function icons, the function names have also been included. By pressing the function icons, you can enable functions, switch modes, or open a sub-menu for more information.

To close the function menu, press the Strutt Button. To return to the home screen, press and hold the Strutt Button.
The Function Menu
In the function menu, tap and hold the icons under General, View, Vehicle Mode, and Convenience to add them to your 9-Shortcut Menu.
Tapping any Drive Mode icons (Manual, Co-pilot, Co-pilot+) switches you to that mode. To exit your current mode, select another mode.
Range, Privacy, Joystick Lock, and Front Light can now be tapped to turn on or off directly from the function menu, or pressed and held to open the corresponding settings page.
Tap and hold the AI Assistant icon to open its settings. To use AI Assistance, return to the home screen, then tap and hold the AI Assistant icon to talk to your ev¹.
2. Controls & Safety Acknowledgment
Safety Acknowledgments
To activate Level S, turn off Manual Mode joystick vibration alerts, and enable Hands-Free Auto-Pilot and Extended Speed, you must complete a review and acknowledgment of our safety guidelines via the App. (See above for safety acknowledgment steps).
Regional note: Due to local regulations, Level S is not supported in Singapore or Japan.
Power Management
Preserve your battery life. You can now enable or disable and customize timers for Auto Sleep and Auto Power-off under Settings -> General -> Power Management.
The evSense System
The evSense System is now ready to roll, just 5 seconds after waking your vehicle from Sleep Mode.
Performance on Slopes
We've increased uphill power, providing up to 25% more power on inclines without exceeding the current Level limit. You'll also receive an alert when the vehicle speed is limited on a slope.
To minimize risk, Waypoints and Pathfinder will now automatically bring your ev¹ to a stop on slopes with inclines over 9 degrees.
3. evSense
Liveview Map
Tapping the Driving Mode no longer takes you to the Liveview map; you have to click on the Liveview Map icon.
Dirty or blocked ToF/LiDAR sensors now display a yellow warning at the corresponding location on the map.
Moving obstacles are now cleared from the map more quickly after they leave.
Mapping & Relocalization
Significantly improved long-term map reliability and faster relocalization. Maps may still be damaged in open outdoor areas or long indoor hallways.
Auto-Pilot (Waypoints and Pathfinder)
Auto-Pilot now slows down gradually before stopping for people or moving obstacles, reducing sudden braking.
After Waypoints or Pathfinder reaches the destination, the front wheels will automatically return to center.
Waypoints
Save up to 5 individual maps with Waypoints. When deleting a map, you can choose to keep its Waypoints. If saved Waypoints are found on a new map, you can restore them. This function is best utilized when you rebuild the same map but want to reuse the waypoints you've set up previously.
Improved Waypoints routing around obstacles, reducing unnecessary detours and incorrect "No Route" messages.
Improved long-drive positioning stability, reducing Waypoint drift.
Co-pilot
Co-Pilot now supports Extended Speed. When enabled, you can cruise at Level 4 speed or Level S if your waiver is signed via the Strutt app and the Level S mode is enabled on the vehicle.
- Go to Settings -> evSense -> Co-Pilot -> Extended Speed
Using Extended Speed at these levels (Level 4 or Level S) automatically disables drop-off detection. Please keep a close eye out for steps, potholes, and uneven terrain.
Co-Pilot now supports Stop Distance settings, with Far, Medium, and Near presets for how far the vehicle stops from static obstacles.
Co-Pilot now supports Moving Obstacle Distance settings, with Far, Medium, and Near presets for how closely the vehicle follows moving obstacles.
Co-pilot+
Co-Pilot+ now supports Avoidance Distance settings, with Far, Medium, and Near presets for how early obstacle avoidance starts.
Weather Intelligence
The evSense system now detects rain and fog. When visibility drops, the system will prompt you to switch to Manual Mode for your safety.
Obstacle Handling
Improved the vehicle's ability to recover when stuck in narrow passages or surrounded by obstacles on multiple sides.
4. Strutt Mobile App Enhancements
Managing your vehicle from your phone has never been more seamless.
Multi-Vehicle & Multi-Device Support
You can now switch between multiple vehicles within the app. Plus, we've added support for logging into the same account on multiple phones at the same time.
Open Beta Program
Want to test drive new features before anyone else? You can now join our Open Beta Program via the My Vehicle screen.
Vehicle Names
Names can now be added up to 32 characters. Long names are shortened with an ellipsis on the home screen.
Device Activation
Added device activation on the personal account screen.
Streamlined Support
If you ever need a hand, support tickets now include an optional App Log upload.
Firmware update indicator
Never miss an update. When new vehicle firmware is available, a red dot appears on both the vehicle settings icon and the version area.
Joystick Control
App joystick control no longer requires you to touch the center dot for 0.5 seconds before the Strutt ev¹ moves.
5. AI Assistant
Improvements have been made to the AI Assistant's speech recognition and voice command accuracy.
Added a confirmation step before deleting any Waypoints via voice command.
6. General Updates
Privacy Mode
Take control with our new Privacy Mode. Head to Settings -> Vehicle Mode -> Privacy Settings to disable your front camera, rear camera, and microphone based on your preset settings.
Improved mileage saving
Total mileage is saved when the vehicle enters Sleep Mode or powers off.
Charging safety check
If the charger is plugged in but not charging, the vehicle cannot drive until the charger is unplugged.
System Polish
Removed Straight-Line Calibration from Settings and reduced brief lag when opening the main media screen after the vehicle is powered on.
Bugfixes
Version 1.2.3.10 clears out several known issues:
evSense
- Fixed unexpected Co-Pilot braking in strong sunlight.
- Fixed driving lag in Level S.
- Fixed custom buffer issues that could prevent Auto-Pilot from starting, or cause buffer settings to be lost after an update.
Mobile Application
- Fixed an issue where the Strutt App required scanning again to reconnect after restarting.
- Fixed an issue where some iPhones could connect to the vehicle but could not control it.
Known Issues
We are actively working on all known issues and will continue addressing them in future updates.
App & General
- Vehicle activation and binding may occasionally fail. If the retry option does not appear in the app, first remove the device from your phone's Bluetooth settings, then try again.
- OTA upgrades may occasionally fail. Please try the upgrade again if it fails.
- The rear camera feed may occasionally freeze. Restarting the device and trying again may resolve this.
- Rear camera guidelines are not fully accurate in all scenarios.
- The joystick button currently has no assigned function. They will be configurable in a future update.
- Wi-Fi networks with browser authentication are not supported.
AI Assistant
- The AI Assistant requires the button to be held throughout your voice command. A single tap will not work. For the best results, hold the button, wait 1 second before speaking, and continue holding it for 1 second after you finish. This input experience will be optimized in a future update.
- The AI assistant may be unstable in certain conditions and is unavailable without a Wi-Fi connection.
evSense
- For a full overview of how evSense detects and responds to obstacles, including its capabilities and current limitations, please refer to the evSense System guide.
- In Co-Pilot mode, the vehicle may decelerate noticeably or navigate less smoothly when passing dynamic obstacles. Oncoming or fast-moving targets may result in avoidance behavior that feels abrupt, with a minor risk of light contact. In crowded environments, frequent acceleration and deceleration may affect ride continuity. We recommend staying at speed level 3 or below in busy areas.
- Ghost braking may occasionally occur near the edges of steep slopes, on open-grid surfaces, in shallow puddles, at curbs, or at drop-offs.
- After extended outdoor use, the saved map for Waypoints may become misaligned or corrupted, which can cause navigation failures, inaccurate destination arrival, or routes planned toward obstacles. If you experience repeated Waypoints issues, reset the map via the AI assistant or the map management screen.
- In outdoor environments with few distinctive features or highly repetitive surroundings, such as long uniform corridors or open plazas, localization may be unreliable, and Waypoints might be inaccurate. We do not recommend using Waypoints in such environments.
- After deleting a map and driving around for a while, previously saved Waypoints may reappear unexpectedly. A future update will add clearer interface prompts and status indicators during Waypoints recall.
- In Waypoints mode, when transitioning from open areas into narrow passages, the vehicle may occasionally plan an illogical route that runs close to the wall.
- In Waypoints and Pathfinder modes, the vehicle may occasionally scrape along the sides of narrow passages or get stuck, requiring the user to take over.
- Cliff and curb detection may be less reliable when objects, walls, or other surfaces are behind the drop, making the edge harder to identify accurately.
- There are areas around the vehicle with limited sensing coverage, including areas with elevated objects, objects directly above or very close to the vehicle, and irregularly shaped objects directly behind it.
Version 1.2.3.10 brings performance improvements that will transform how your vehicle drives and navigates. We highly encourage you to install this software update today to experience the new UI, vehicle intelligence, and safety features firsthand.
