Here's what's new in version 1.3.6.3.
Note: With the release of vehicle software version 1.3.6.3, please make sure your Strutt App is updated to version 2.7.2 or later.

Key Updates in This Release

The main updates include:
  • New Follow Mode
  • Customisable Deep Power-Off setting
  • Improved Joystick and Waypoints notifications in the Strutt App
  • Enhanced Smart Push Handle and Cruise Control experience
  • Bug fixes and usability improvements
  1. Follow Mode: Your ev¹ Follows Your Lead

Strutt ev¹ is designed to move with you. Now, with Follow Mode, it can do so in a whole new way.
Your ev¹ can automatically follow a person walking directly in front of it, adjusting its distance as they move and coming to a controlled stop when they stop.
Whether you're riding or walking, Follow Mode introduces another way to interact with your vehicle, offering greater flexibility in everyday mobility.

How to Use Follow Mode

  1. Enable Follow Mode: Open the Strutt App and accept the Follow Mode waiver.
  2. Access Follow Mode: On the vehicle's screen, open the STRUTT menu and select Follow Mode.
  3. Position Yourself: Stand still within 0.5 m (1.6 ft) directly in front of the vehicle for two seconds, in an open area with few people.
  4. Start Following: Once the vehicle locks onto the nearest person ahead, it will begin following automatically after approximately one second.
During the following, the vehicle adjusts its distance automatically and stops at a safe distance of approximately 30 cm (12 inches) from the person when they stop.

Important Notes for Follow Mode

  • If no person is detected within 10 seconds, tap Try Again to restart the search and make sure the person is positioned directly in front of the vehicle.
  • If the target is lost, the vehicle will come to a controlled stop. Tap Try Again once stopped to search again.

  • Tapping Stop Following or exiting the page will end Follow Mode and bring the vehicle to a controlled stop.

  • You can take back control at any time by using the joystick. Pressing the M or C button to switch driving modes will also end Follow Mode and bring the vehicle to a controlled stop
Note: If your default startup mode is Co-Pilot or Co-Pilot+, a confirmation pop-up will still appear when switching to Manual Mode.
  • Disabling Follow Mode permission in the Strutt App while Follow Mode is active, will end the Follow Mode and stop the vehicle.
Safety Tips: Always keep the vehicle and its surroundings in sight, and be ready to take over control at any time. Do not use Follow Mode in crowded areas or anywhere you cannot clearly see the vehicle and its path.
  1. Deep Power-Off

A new Deep Power-Off Time setting allows you to choose when the vehicle enters deep shutdown after being powered off. This is a highly requested function that switches off the Bluetooth and prevents battery drain overnight.
The current default setting is "At Power Off", this means that once the device is powered off, the Bluetooth on your vehicle will be turned off and you will not be able to use your Strutt App to power on the vehicle.
If you want to be able to turn on the vehicle from your Strutt App, please change the setting by heading to Settings > General > Power Management. Scroll down the page until you see "Deep Power-off Time", then select your preferred setting.

  1. Improvements

Strutt App

  • Clearer Status Notifications: Joystick and Waypoints now display the reason a function is unavailable when the vehicle is locked, asleep, or in Range Mode, along with guidance on how to proceed.
  • Bluetooth Reconnection: If Bluetooth disconnects while using Joystick or Waypoints, you can choose to reconnect or return to the home screen.
  • Waypoints Readiness: After exiting Range Mode, the App will notify you if evSense is not yet ready for Waypoints.

Smart Push Handle

  • Activating Push Assist under Co-Pilot or Co-Pilot+ mode will temporarily switches the vehicle to Smart Push Handle control in Manual Mode. The original driving mode is restored when joystick control resumes.
  • Switching to Co-Pilot or Co-Pilot+ while Push Assist is active will disable assistance and display a reminder.
  • Smart Push Handle now supports Range Mode.

Cruise Control

  • Improved the jerkiness of stopping when exiting Cruise Mode for a smoother and more comfortable stop.

  1. Bug Fixes

This release also includes the following fixes:
  • Fixed an issue causing abnormal App interface displays when changing the device's font size.
  • Fixed an auto-lock issue where the vehicle did not correctly lock when transitioning from Sleep Mode to Power Off under certain settings.
